Cliffside musings

Do you sometimes associate feelings with words ?
Yes I hear how it sounds
Feelings are just other words
How do you “feel” words about other words
Imagine standing alone on a cliff
Watching the sea below
( No you don’t jump
Kind of loses the point of this narrative if you do )

It’s amazing how everyone we know make mental notes about us
Happy
Calm
Caring
Impulsive
I have been so many things
I tend to lose track – most of it anyway
I have been called a lot of things
I have been strong of late
( recently and most importantly)
Like my mother
And her mother
And all others before us
Now strong is a great description
An honor almost
Strong takes you places
Strong lets you open doors when others fail
Strong gives you the poker face and the fake smile, right when you need it
Strong teaches you to not shed tears when your world is breaking apart
Strong tells you
It tells you exactly when and where and how and what
To hold on and to let go
It makes you think and decide and do the most acceptable “right” thing
Strong carries you
Within its iron clad armour
Strapped in
Never tiring
Never resting
Never ending
And strong helps you overlook, a lot of things
Feelings which would otherwise possess our entire existence and mess up the perfect order of our many worlds
Worlds hanging on threadbare harnesses
From the high rise ceilings of our houses
Meticulously planned
And decorated
That plant near the window
That couch near the books
Our beautiful fragile glass houses of illusions we dare not meddle with
Strong makes you keep all that
Just as it should be
Picture perfect
Strong forces you
It forces to be so others don’t have to
To take deep breaths everytime the pain catches up to you
And run
Run fast
Keep running till you don’t feel it
With music set louder than your thoughts
It makes you run to the clifftop
Content, alone and out of reach
Strong is just like standing alone on that cliff
Strong is a lonely place to be
